3 Shows To Watch For True Crime Lovers.

I’ve always been fascinated with true crime. I’m not entirely sure where it started but it probably had something to do with reading American Psycho in my teens. I honestly don’t see anything wrong with being interested in any of this stuff, so, if you’re like me, here are 3 of my to watch shows for crime lovers.

Making a Murderer (2015)
I think this is a great place to start for people who are interested in true crime but don’t want to get in too deep. I found this show really interesting and it open up my eyes to shows like this. Although that being said, don’t believe everything you see with this one, remember this is filmed from a perspective to prove them innocent…it doesn’t show both sides of the story.

Mindhunter (2017)
I’d seen this floating around Netflix for a little while but didn’t really know what it was until I saw a trailer, I’m so glad I started watching this! This show is about the psychologist and FBI agents who interviewed killers to try and work out how their minds worked. Basically, this is the initial research that helped us identify ‘serial killers’, their behaviors, ticks, traits etc. What’s also fascinating about this show is the personalities of the FBI agent who have to work with these killers. It’s generally a really good insight into the history of these people and why we know so much about them. I’m not entirely sure if this is based on real people but it feels like it is!

The Confession Tapes (2017)
This is about true crime cases that lacked physical evidence and used psychological tactics during interrogation to extract confessions from naive suspects. It goes through a few different cases and the evidence interviews and shows you how they got the confessions out of these people, it’s really strange to watch but super engaging and I really enjoyed watching it. These cases aren’t really gross or anything so they’re not too gruesome for people just getting into true crime.

If you love true crime too I hope you enjoyed these 3 suggestions, let me know if you’ve seen any of them before or if you have any other suggestions for me in the comments below as I’d love to hear from you.

I actually read and listen to quite a few more true crime themed things, so if this is something you’d like to know more about then please let me know and i’ll do some version of this post for books and podcasts!
